Growing Breadseed poppies

The rhythmic cycles of nature

Patina Meadows is a twenty-two acre cut flower farm located in the quiet town of Easton, Kansas.

Our guiding principle when it comes to growing is quite simple - to do the least amount of harm as possible. We are deeply committed to using sustainable and regenerative practices that allow us to build and nurture our relationship with the soil and the environment in which we farm in. Biodiversity is central to this philosophy, creating a flourishing, symbiotic ecosystem through use of native plants, minimal soil disturbance, cover crops, hedgerows, waterways and a wide variety of cut flower cultivars.

We believe that growing flowers is a conversation in a language that doesn’t use any words. Rather, it is one of presence, patience and devotion. As in all relationships, we acknowledge our role is to not control nature. Our role is to listen humbly, place aside our own expectations and do our best to give the soil what it needs for it and the plants to thrive.

The seasons continue to guide our flower selections and availability. By allowing flowers to bloom in their natural rhythms, we are able to harvest them at their peak vitality. The freshness, vibrancy and vase life is unparalleled, resulting in organic, textural, curiosity driven floral design that is as unique as it is intentional.
